June Wednesday Wishing

Welcome to June and the first Wednesday of the month. Summer is not far off and I am loving the weather already and plan to make the most of it by wearing some lovely clothes! On that note...

1. This is definitely the perfect hat to hide mysteriously from under on your sun lounger this Summer. The width protects your face from the sun and it will look very chic with a cut-out swimsuit and a tan - real or fake. H&M, £5.99.

2. Now is the time to be wearing your acid brights - never mind if that old man on the tube stares! The pleated skirt is the key item for the season and this lemon yellow colour is fresh and zingy. Wear with other citrus shades for an original look. River Island, £29.99.

3. Another wonder accessory up next in the shape of this fringed clutch from Dorothy Perkins. Fringing is practically synonyms with the word 'festival' but this bag could also be worn with a maxi dress and tan heels, imagine the possibilities... Dorothy Perkins, £35.

4. If you haven't noticed already I have become a little obsessed with colour blocking this season, so imagine my happiness at coming across these colour block red, purple and pink sandals. Flats don't have to be boring this Summer - be careful not to wear with too many other colours though or risk looking like a rainbow. Zara, £29.99.

5. I had my first view of the new celebrity collaboration range for Very.co.uk at their Press Day last week and I was rather impressed. This time they've lined up Diana Vickers, previous X Factor contestant and always well dressed to design a range for them. The range has a retro, luxe feel and this bird printed prom dress is my favourite from the current range. A great dress for a Summer wedding or an understated day look with some retro shades. £79, Diana Vickers at Very.

Mid Week Wishing

Welcome to Wednesday everyone (not long til the weekend now) and in turn to the Wednesday Wish List. I can honestly say that it was hard to narrow down the 'candidates' for this week's list as there were so many covetable items that I came across but I feel I've chosen the best pieces and hope you agree. Enjoy!

1. A bright necklace may seem like a difficult item to wear but it is the perfect point of interest for a white or black t-shirt, a block colour dress or denim pieces. Clash with bright make-up: bold lips, fluoro nails or a peachy blush and neutral eye makeup. Dorothy Perkins, £12.50.

2. Fruit print isn't going anywhere (thanks Prada) and these pumps are a fresh and wearable take on the look. Swap them for your black ballet pumps for a casual Spring look. Topshop, £18.

3. Boohoo have had a massive drop of lovely summer pieces online this week and whilst it was hard to choose a favourite I eventually did, in the form of this floral longline kimono. The fresh turquoise colour makes it stand out in a sea of kimonos; it would look great with light wash denim shorts and a vest on a warm day. Boohoo, £30.

4. I was very glad to see this gorgeous River Island bag FINALLY in store and I urge you to snap it up asap as it looks set to be a sellout. Very Prada-esque, the perfect day bag for a sports-luxe outfit. River Island, £39.99.

5. Last up this week is a trusty pair of tan sandals, with a difference. These Office flats are comfortable, reliable and stylish to boot with the unusual tassel detail. Tan goes with everything making them an excellent warm weather investment. Office, £48.

All Aboard the Orient Express

Carolina Herrera SS11

Oriental prints are big news this season and are fast becoming one of my favourite looks. A kimono here, a pair of silky shorts there, the look is highly wearable and can be found very easily on the high street, best places including River Island, Topshop and Zara, the latter where I got this gorgeous kimono top (below) from for £29.99.

I've found my favourite oriental pieces on the high street for under £100. Wear with sleek hair, glossy red lips and bold black eyes for a classic look.

First Wednesday Wish of May

Hello all and welcome to the first Wednesday Wish List of May. Hope you all enjoyed the Royal Wedding last weekend and haven't found it too painful to be back at work! If so then the lovely new clothes dropping into store must surely make this more bearable. Enjoy!

1. To start us off this week I bring you these tasty apple earrings from Urban Outfitters. A great high street alternative to those Miu Miu earrings, these will add fun to any outfit. A mere £6, you could get yourself some real fruit with the change from a tenner...

2. The bold florals on this t-shirt caught my attention when browsing in Zara this week; reminding me of the Jil Sander SS11 show, this t-shirt could just as easily be worn with a colour block maxi skirt or a pair of jeans for a casual look. Zara, £17.99.

3. My third pick this week is from a brand called Love, available at selected Topshop stores and on their website here. They stock a fabulous range of floaty chiffon separates and dresses for reasonable prices and this bird print skirt for £30 is a current favourite of mine.

4. The fashion world has fallen in love with tangerine this season and this stunning A|Wear midi dress is a great tangerine purchase. It has the potential to be a casual Summer dress by day worn with sandals or a bold evening outfit with platforms and a colour block accessory. The midi length is modestly flattering and very on trend, get yours now for £40.

5. Last up is another bright item, these pink and orange colour block shorts from ASOS's SS11 White range. Perfect for that illusive Summers day in the city or a beachside holiday, would look best worn with white or nude shades. ASOS, £40.

Wednesday Wishing: Easter Special

Happy Wednesday all and Happy Easter in advance for this weekend! I hope you and your families have a lovely weekend and make the most of the first of the bank holiday Mondays. Enjoy the Wish List this week, I've gone for an Easter theme with sugary colours and sweet details so treat yourself, less calories than chocolate!

1. First up this week is this fairytale lemon dress from Monsoon. There's a touch of the ballerina about this dress and it would look lovely at a bank holiday wedding or formal garden party. Sweet and girly, wear with feminine accessories. Monsoon, £75.

2. Pleats are the key detail this season and can be worn on tops as well as skirts, just take this Topshop top for example. Love the sugary colour, a great top to dress up or down depending on your bank holiday plans. Topshop, £34.

3. Fringing is a prevalent detail on bags this season and the soft cream shade of this Aldo bag takes the Navajo look out of the equation and makes it a soft, versatile accessory. Aldo, £36.

4. Now a white skirt may scare a few of you but never fear, this is a highly wearable look if done right. Tuck in a top in another light shade and don't over accessorise, a subtle bangle or a delicate necklace will do. Miss Selfridge, £36.

5. Last up is the most sugary item on my list, these baby pink silk shorts from Topshop Boutique. A great way to wear shorts in the heat, the material is light and is perfect for the Sports Luxe look. Topshop Boutique, £40.

Brighten Up

Apologies for the lack of blog entries recently, in particular the absence of last week's Wednesday Wish List. I've been a lazy blogger recently but am looking to do better in the coming months. Have been to a fair few exciting press events recently and am starting to see AW11 collections on the high street, trust me there is a lot to look forward to!

But putting the thought of Winter clothing aside for now and focusing on the present, how amazing is the weather?! The sun in London has been lovely today, definitely a mood brightener and the perfect opportunity to wear some bright outfits. So with all that in mind, I bring you a round-up of the best colour block shoes in stores now that you NEED to buy asap. Think of it as owing it the good weather!

Blue and coral platform sandals, Miss Selfridge, £50

Cream and orange wedges, Topshop, £70

Red, pink and cork wedges, Carvela at Kurt Geiger, £140

Yellow and beige wedges, Aldo, £80

Purple platform heels, Carvela at Kurt Geiger, £140

Raffia and green platform sandals, ASOS, £50

If you only buy one pair of colour block shoes this season then snap up these Primark beauties for just £14! Also comes in pink, get them before they sell out.

More Wednesday Wishing

Happy Wednesday to you all, hope the weather is as good where you are as it is in London! I'm dusting off my Summer clothes (yes it's only April but why not!) and digging out my shades, even if the good weather only lasts for the rest of this week.

1. Starting us off this week is THE outfit I want to be wearing when Summer really kicks in - this beautiful mint green jumpsuit from Dorothy Perkins, £55. Also comes in blue but I think this minty shade would look perfect in the sun with a sunkissed glow and some sandals.

2. Continuing with the pastel theme, I bring you these baby blue Nike hi-tops. Sports luxe is having a bit of a fashion moment and I am seriously considering investing in a pair, perfect partner to jeans, a t-shirt and Ray Bans on a relaxed day in the sun. £81.99 at Office.

3. Pretty accessories have been catching my eye recently, one of which being this yellow gingham hairband from Topshop, £7. Would look very D&G-chic paired with a denim playsuit and perfectly disguises a bad hair day.

4. Aldo are well known for their lovely shoes but not so much for their accessories so I feel its only fair for me to put this right! They have a great selection of handbags online and in store now, my favourite being this tan fold over clutch with eye-catching floral detail. Snap it up for £36.

5. Last item up this week comes from one of my favourite SS collections: Miu Miu. Loved the neon shades paired with black but particularly loved the star detail on bags, shoes and other accessories. This star belt is probably the most affordable of the range, tie it round colour block shift dresses for most impact. £175 at Net-a-Porter.
