Last Wednesday Wish in March

As per the title, I cannot believe that this is the last Wish List in March! April seemed so far away and now it's almost here which in my mind marks the start of some lovely Spring weather, all being well. But more importantly for now, lets get on with the wishing...

1. Lots of lovely oriental-inspired items are popping up in various Spring Summer collections and this shift dress has caught my eye. Perfect with ankle socks and a cardigan for day and would look lovely with some enamel bangles and turquoise rings to accessorise it. Miss Selfridge (petites), £38.

2. Recently a lot of my non-working time has been taken up by my quest for a lovely silky blazer jacket (yes, I'm obsessed, apologies) and this River Island number is definitely a front runner. Coral is a key colour for this season and an easy way to update your wardrobe and a blazer is quite frankly a Spring wardrobe staple! So a win on both counts I say, £34.99 at River Island.

3. Need a new pair of day shoes for Spring? Look no further than these Urban Outfitters twisted jersey flats, £22. Effortlessly stylish and I'd be very surprised if they're not comfy to boot. A pay day purchase for me definitely!

4. With my previous statement about coral still standing, I bring you this maxi skirt. Bright, soft and with plenty of movement in the skirt for the romantic Spring look. £29.99, Zara.

5. Last up, another lovely pair of shoes. These printed platform heels from Boohoo are glamorous and a bargain that you'll get lots of wear out of this Spring with all the 70's inspired looks. £35 online now.

Shoe Heaven

On Wednesday this week I went along to the Bertie SS11 bloggers event to see their lovely new shoe collection. Being a massive shoe fan, I am always on the lookout for new shoes to lust over and Bertie did not disappoint, their SS collection being the perfect mix of unique styles that are also highly wearable.

The main colours of the collection included Spring staples tan, cream, cornflower blue, nude, cherry red and obligatory black. Soft leather was the material of choice and key details such as laces, buckles, lazer cut holes and weaving made an appearance. There is a relaxed feel to the collection, heels are glamorous but in shades that would compliment every Spring outfit rather than taking it over and brogues and loafers are light and comfortable.

My favourites from the collection are as follows:

Heels

Wonderful wedges seem to be the order of the season at Bertie, love this cornflower blue lace up 'Mont Blanc' style for £75, would look lovely with a white Summer dress.

These 'Prespa' mega wedges seemed to be a clear favourite with the majority of attendees, available in tan, black and cherry red as seen below for £95. Very 70's and in such a beautiful colour, try clashing with blush pink and caramel shades.

I snapped up a pair of these lace up peep toe 'Sandia' wedges in taupe as seen here, also available in black, £85. THE perfect pair of daytime wedges with a comfortable heel height and in a nude shade that will go with pretty much everything. Love them!

Flats

There was a large selection of lovely flats in the collection so I have narrowed it down to my favourite three pairs (always hard for me!), first to catch my eye were these buckled soft leather 'Santis' pumps for £85. They come in black and brown and wouldn't look out of place on the feet of Alexa Chung, I particularly like the buckle detail around the ankle that sets them apart from a standard pair of black flats.

These beautiful blue 'Galatea' brogues are next up. Such a stunning shade of blue and the perfect way to inject some colour into your daytime footwear collection. Would look perfect with a preppy outfit topped off with a Letterman jacket. Also comes in tan and black if you're not sold on the colour, available now for £75.

Last pair of flats to catch my eye were these floral tapestry loafers that I noticed tucked away in a corner (please excuse my awful photography). I can't seem to see them on the Bertie website at the moment but hopefully they're not far off being in store, definitely ones to keep an eye out for. Love the tapestry detail, giving them a vintage feel and I have a definite soft spot for loafers wearing them most days to work so I'll definitely be purchasing these asap!

Aside from the shoes we were treated to a DJ, lovely snacks and drinks by the great team at Bertie along with an amazing photo booth which myself, Amy and Catherine made good use of! See our silly pictures below and check out the rest from the event at the Fun Booth website. Overall it was a lovely evening, thanks again to the team at Bertie for inviting me along. Feast your eyes at the full collection at www.bertieshoes.com.

Another Wednesday Wish List

Hello all, hope your Wednesday has been as exciting and busy as mine. The sun is shining in London and that means the official start of Spring so no better time to snap up some new items!

1. Starting us off is the sunniest item on my list this week, these fruity shorts from Love Label at Very.co.uk. Fruit prints are everywhere at the moment - apples, cherries, strawberries, bananas, pineapples and lemons, the fruit that adorns these bargain £18 shorts. I won't pretend its quite warm enough to wear them yet but there's no harm in buying them now and holding out for a heatwave, right?

2. Accessory-wise, wicker = big news this season and is always synonomous with Summer. A clutch that could be worn day or night, perfect partner to a white sun dress and denims. ASOS, £30.

3. I've been waiting for the amazingness of Christopher Kane's neon lace to trickle down into the high street collections and styles inspired by his collection seem to be making their way into store at the moment. This yellow lace shirt is a good way to do bright lace without going OTT as it could be worn with other brights or with jeans for the less brave among you. £28, Topshop.

4. There would be something wrong if I wasn't lusting a pair of bright shoes this week like every other but luckily I have found a pair to satisfy my interest. These Missguided heels are very high, yes, but look much pricier than they are for just £34.99 and are the perfect shoes to make a colour statement with.

5. Final item this week is a denim shift dress - fast becoming a favourite of mine for relaxed daywear. I particularly like the clean cut of the dress and the bright wash of the denim and it looks rather comfy to boot. £45 at Warehouse.

A Thursday Wish

Sorry for the delayed publishing of this blog post, have been a busy bee this week but have still managed to trawl the internet for some lovely bits and pieces for you to lust over... (I'm so kind!)

1. First up is an instant, highly affordable outfit updater, the cocktail ring. Always a fashion favourite and the shocking pink colour is the easiest way to do brights this season if you're a little wary of full-on colour. For just £8, its worth a go! Get yours at ASOS.com.

2. Next up is this seasons favourite: the maxi skirt (see previous post). This floral maxi skirt is versatile and will see you through to the Summer and beyond. Tuck in a bright coloured knit and wear with loafers for the time being. Best thing is, you can buy this skirt and still have change from £10! £8, Matalan.

3. Perhaps you could wear your new maxi skirt with this blush pink bag from Topshop? Love the perforated leather detail and the blush shade compliments the Spring colour palette. £36 and in stores now.

4. There seems to be a common theme in my weekly wishing: beautiful shoes. So it wouldn't be right not to feature another pair this week and these Office beauties don't disappoint! Spotted these at Spring Summer press day back in 2010 and am glad to see them in store now. Try with light denim and bold separates and remember to paint your toe nails! £72 at Office.

5. Last up is this whimsical peasant style midi dress from French Connection. A light dress is a Spring essential and perfect for the 70's trend this season. Add a tan satchel, block heels and some oversized shades and wait for the sun! French Connection, £155.

Skirting the issue

Left to right: Chloe, Jil Sander, Marc Jacobs, Richard Nicoll SS11

Maxi/midi skirts are everywhere this season once again; much loved by fashionable celebs including Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo and popping up in a large number of high profile designer collections. Whilst I could waste time lusting after a block colour Jil Sander maxi skirt or a 70's inspired billowing Marc Jacobs midi dress, the high street has many great maxi/midi skirts to offer. Feast your eyes on these lovelies!

Turquoise print maxi dress, H&M, £34.99

Paper bag waist maxi skirt, River Island, £34.99

Nude chiffon midi skirt, Miss Selfridge, £35

Caramel pleated midi skirt, Zara, £39.99

Berry pleated maxi skirt, Motel at Topshop, £58

Blue pleated midi skirt, American Apparel, £42

Styling tips:
- Look for pleating, asymmetric hem details and billowing layers
- For the sporty brights look, keep accessories to a minimum and pair with a non-fussy top
- Keep the top half reasonably fitted when going for a maxi/midi skirt, only dresses can get away with volume
- For the 70's look stay away from flats and wear with chunky platforms
- A slouchy blazer or baggy cardigan goes well over the top when worn loose
- Check the weather before you wear a maxi, no one wants soggy ends in the rain
- Stay away from black skirts this season, instead choose brights, nudes or 70's inspired shades

Wednesday Wish List: Spring Shoe Special

Happy Wednesday all, I hope you are ready for some serious shoe envy as for this week's Wish List I have decided to focus entirely on all the lovely new shoes in the shops. I have chosen my five favourites as always and am sure you will find a pair for you from the list. Enjoy...

1. First on the list this week are the sensible(ish) option... a pair of colour block flats. The pointy toe helps them to stand out in a sea of coloured ballet pumps and I love the folded bow detail on the front. Wear with black tapered trousers to show them off. ASOS, £25.

2. Wedges are popular once again this season but eye-catching styles reign supreme. These powder blue lace up wedges are a bit pricier than the other shoes on the list at just under £100 but beautiful shoes like this make the spending worth it! Pair with other pastels: peach, mint or lavender and a silky white tee. £96, Ravel at very.co.uk.

3. If you know me you'll know I don't do 'small' heels and these ASOS beauties are begging for me to buy them. Black shoes with a difference thanks to the pink-dyed raffia sole, clash them up with other coloured accessories and a simple luxe outfit. ASOS, £55.

4. Love the vintage 70's feel of these Topshop Mary Janes. They come in black, gold and silver too but cream is perfect for Spring, just don't wear on a rainy day! Try with a shift dress and bare legs if you dare. Topshop, £60.

5. Last but by no means least this week are these green dotty platforms. The dotty print gives them a youthful, fun appeal and the natural coloured, lightweight platform is a key look for heels this season. Comfy, fresh and reasonably priced, what more can we ask for! Love Label at very.co.uk, £38.

A Wish

Happy Wednesday all and welcome to this week's Wednesday Wish List. I've gone for a somewhat ladylike feel to this week's list and hope you enjoy...

1. First up is a highly affordable outfit updater - the mini-bag. Small but perfectly formed, fits your essentials with no room to waste. Very ladylike and a reliable evening bag for almost any outfit. ASOS, £20.

2. Printed palazzo pants are everywhere at the moment thanks to collections such as Miu Mius Resort 2011 and are both comfortable and stylish. Wear these chic flower print palazzos with platforms and a silky blouse, get yours from Miss Selfridge for £45.

3. I am becoming a little obsessed with block-colour at the moment and this tangerine Zara shift dress has caught my beady eye. Perfect with tights and pumps for a clean, classic everyday look with a colourful twist. £49.99, Zara.

4. Possibly the most ladylike item on this week's Wish List, these blush and baby pink court shoes are practically begging to be bought and well loved this season. Smart and guaranteed to induce shoe envy, pop into Schuh to get yours for £68.

5. Finally I bring you this navy printed mac. The perfect cover-up for the annoying inbetween weather (is it Winter or Spring, make a decision!), the mac is always a ladylike staple and this one is the most interesting I've seen yet. Topshop, £89.
