A Wednesday Wish

Hello, and welcome to today's Wednesday Wish List. Scary to think this will be the last one of October, meaning November (and effectively Winter) is just round the corner. To cheer myself up after that thought, I have of course been scouring the Internet for the best buys of this week and I hope you enjoy them.

1. This week's list seems to have subconsciously developed a Baroque theme to it, starting off with this impressive cape from Monsoon Fusion for £120. Gold details always look classic against a navy background and the embroidery gives it an added edge. Make it the focal point of your outfit and tone down the accessories.

2. These black glitter and mesh 'Twine' shoeboots from Office are next on my list. Much more interesting than your average pair and the perfect compliment to a Cosmopolitan at the first of many Christmas parties soon to be happening! I love Office shoes and am so glad they've made their images copyable so I can share their great collection with you all! £88 instore and online.

3. This pretty necklace is next up. These days a necklace isn't worth mentioning unless there is something statement about it, and I'm pleased to say that this one is making a positive statement! Love the pretty red roses and the pearl chain; £20 at Evans.

4. Another jacket makes the list this week in the shape of this gold brocade 'Heathcliffe' jacket from Traffic People for £49.99. Traffic People caught my eye last season with their beautiful chiffon playsuits and this season's collection certainly doesn't disappoint. Wear this jacket with a black, 70's style jumpsuit and some heels for a strong party look.

5. To finish with today I bring you these navy velvet pumps from ASOS.com, £26. I'm sure you've noticed that velvet is having a major fashion moment and these shoes are a great way to dip your toe in. Wear them with a tux-style white blouse and black slim trousers.

New Navy

Having stumbled across pictures of two of my favourite celebrities, Blake Lively and Alexa Chung in the same navy minidress I have come to the conclusion that my Winter wardrobe will be lost without one. Navy is just as flattering as black and much more interesting, as this beautiful Chanel dress proves.

This ASOS dress has caught my eye and will look great worn with grey knitted tights and loafers to work. At just £46 it's a fraction of the price of Blake and Alexa's but will serve you well until you can afford the real thing :)

Wednesday Wish List

Hello, hope you are all having a lovely week and ready for this week's Wednesday Wish List! It seems to be getting chillier and chillier each day and the only thought keeping me from feeling down about it is that Christmas is just around the corner and we all know what that means - lots of new clothing and accessories to lust over!

So with that in mind I have gone for a reasonably festive theme for this weeks Wish List, bringing you my favourite new buys of the week.

1. I love this printed draped cardigan from Matalan, a bargain at just £12! The grungy print is great for the current season, throw it over a grey marl vest and baggy trousers for a relaxed look.

2. Continuing with the grunge-glam vibe, I love this blue-grey dress from Warehouse, £80. The sequin detail takes the relaxed shape of the dress from day to night, pair with smokey eyes and chunky black ankle boots.

3. This skirt is probably my favourite item on this weeks list and I'm sure you can see why! Covered in beautiful sequin detail, this skirt will look great now with a tee tucked in and a leather jacket and come the festive party season it's begging to be worn with a body and heels. Buy yourself an early Christmas present, £54.99 at River Island.

4. I can't decide which item is more party perfect out of the above skirt and these jacquard French Connection trousers, £95. The high waist is ever flattering and jacquard is always a must-have for Winter. Smart enough to wear to work now or save them for a sophisiticated evening out.

5. To round off today I leave you with the most practical (in theory) item on the list: the Winter hat. However, this is no ordinary Winter hat but the most fun cold weather accessory I have come across so far. This fur, bear faced trapper hat could be yours for £17.99 from River Island and will certainly keep you warm and smiling as the days get colder :)

Saturday Sale Shopping

Sales scare me. There, I've said it: barging past hoardes of bargain hunters in Topshop Oxford Street as a teenager has put me off the experience in my adult life. An online sale however - always worth a look. You can find a much better range of sizes online for starters, and you don't have to queue for ever and a day to purchase your bargains.

I've been checking out the River Island sale this afternoon and thought I should share with you the bargains I've found, in the form of some gorgeous pairs of discounted shoes. Get these before they go as they're bound to be snapped up soon.

Love these chunky leopard print platforms and for £25 it would be rude not to!

These navy platforms have a similar chunky look to them and come in hot pink too, also for £25.

These strapped black wedges could be worn with almost anything this season and also come in beige. Why not buy both?! £30 is a great price for the wear you'll get out of them.

Check out the rest of the sale here.

Wishing on a Wonderful Wednesday

Today has been a rather momentous day, news wise, what with the rescue of the Chilean miners and I have been so focused on the news today I've almost forgotten to blog! Almost... but never fear, the Wednesday Wish List is here and I hope you enjoy this weeks items.

But before all that, a bit of shameless self promotion from me. I've recently started writing some guest blogs for other websites and have been lucky enough to write for two sites in the past few weeks. Check out my guest posts at the links below and let me know your thoughts!

Sourz blog - 'Velvet and Lace'

The Handbag Fairy - 'Keeping it Simple'

Here begins the Wednesday Wish List. Enjoy!

1. To kick things off this week I bring you the perfect bag for AW. A good investment; red is the seasons key accessory colour and this satchel bag is smart and stylish for all occasions. The Cambridge Satchel company have been getting a fair bit of press recently and what can I say, I'm jumping on the band wagon! 13 inch satchels are £75, get yours asap.

2. I've been looking for a pair of flattering leather shorts for a good few weeks now and I've found them in these River Island lovelies. The tan colour is apt for the season and will compliment white, black and grey perfectly. They also come in black in case you're not set on this shade; buy now at River Island for £59.99.

3. Next up is a lovely skirt that I'm hoping makes its way into my wardrobe v.soon! A good length for the season, this Topshop Boutique skirt is perfectly retro and the yellow polka-dot pattern could pass for vintage. Snap it up for £50 at Topshop.

4. I love Fearne Cotton's style and always keep my eye on her latest collections for online retailer Very. This black dress with velvet detail is a hardworking piece for Autumn. Echoing Fearne's unique style, will definitely have people asking where you got it from. Available for £55 at very.co.uk, make sure you check out the rest of the collection too.

5. To round off the WWL today I bring you my current lust item and surprise surprise, it's a pair of Kurt Geiger shoes! This pair of lace up, peep-toe ankle boots are a must have for the Baroque trend. Rather pricey at £390 but well-worth it if you ask me.

Black Magic

Whilst doing a bit of online (window) shopping earlier I came across the fabulous new ASOS Black collection and was mesmerized by the beauty of it all. The collection is a more premium-looking line by the online retailer comprising of clothing, shoes and accessories and captures the essence of this season perfectly through the use of sleek fabrics and texture details. My favourite picks from the collection are below:

The detail on this looped mauve dress is rather impressive; the colour is glamorous but the loop detail gives it an edge. Perfect for an original look this party season. (£75)

This bejewelled headband puts Blair Walforf's to shame! Looks great on the model here with a messy up-do and some smudgy eye makeup. I'd wear it with a plain slouchy tee tucked into black tailored trousers to disguise a bad hair day! (£46)

I think I've fallen in love with this soft grey ruffled edged maxi skirt. Would look stunning dressed up with heels and a silky blouse or down with pumps and a knitted jumper. Will be saving my pennies for this beauty! (£95)

I love a good pair of shoes and this pair are certainly that. In black suede with peep toes and mirror plate detail on the heel, they would look amazing with leather trousers (check out the pair in the collection!) and midnight blue nail varnish on your toes. (£140)

It's that time again!

If you need a mid-week pick me up then you've come to the right place, I've been browsing the web and window-shopping just to bring you my favourite five pieces to buy this week. So with no further ado...

1. Starting us off this week is an item that actually made me go back into a shop after leaving it, this checked jumpsuit from Warehouse, £65. Love the slouchy fit and the fresh take on Winter checks.

2. Next up is a pair of shoes that would work their way perfectly into your working wardrobes. These fringed, peep toe, buckled wedges are smart but far from boring. Try with some boy-fit trousers and strut around the office in style. Get shopping at Miss Selfridge, £50.

3. This bright red heart bag from River Island is the perfect thing to cheer you up on a cold, dreary October day for a mere £24.99. Break up an otherwise dull outfit with a pop of red, the on-trend bright for this season.

4. I love a bit of statement jewelery and this green gem ring has certainly got my attention. Looks great with stylish grey nails, get yours at Accesorize for £12.

5. To finish off the Wish List today is my current lust-have; a chunky gold Marc Jacobs watch. Granted it's not cheap at £175, but a good watch is a real investment piece and I love the contrast between the thick strap and the cute animals on the watch face. Available at ASOS.com, I'll race you to the checkout!

Best in Show

With Paris Fashion Week drawing to a close, signalling the end of the SS11 RTW shows, I've been looking back over pictures of fabulously (and some not-so fabulously) dressed celebrities with great interest. I've compiled a list of 'Best in Show' - the celeb looks that I, and no doubt you, have been coveting.

Starting us off in New York is Miss Olivia Palermo, looking lovely at at the Monique Lhullier show. Love the bright printed cardi over the muted patterned dress and her new shorter haircut is very fashion forward for this season. Flashing her tanned legs in some on-trend grey ankle boots, she was a front-row favourite this season and I never tire of seeing what she'll wear next.

Try this River Island cardi, £24.99, over a neutral coloured outfit for Olivia's look.

Next up, London Fashion Week, and there was no shortage of inspiring celebrity outfits to lust over. I particularly liked Nicola Roberts' outfit at the Unique show. Love the edginess of the cropped leather jacket over the abstract printed Unique AW10 tutu dress, available from Topshop for £200. Accessorising the look with her statement red hair, she certainly represents us Brits well at LFW - pale is interesting after all!

Pick up this leather-look jacket from Warehouse for £55, throw it over your party dress for the perfect Autumn look.

Paris Fashion Week is always a celeb-fest, and this season has been no different. My favourite look however comes to you from the effortlessly cool US DJ Leigh Lezark, at the Chanel show earlier today. Love the contrast between the snowy hues of her sheer and fur mix dress next to her jet black long bob. And of course it never hurts to wear Chanel to a Chanel show! This stunning dress is one of the highlights of the AW collection.

I wouldn't hope to recreate the magic of Karl Lagerfeld on the British high street but this Topshop dress, £120, is a good compromise.

Many more lust worthy outfits caught my eye but these three were certainly my favourites. Roll on the AW11 shows!
