W.W.L

Hot weather = perfect online shopping conditions. And I am here to aid you in your summer purchases by bringing you the Wednesday Wish List, as promised.

1. So to start us off I bring you this cream and nude playsuit from ASOS Black, at asos.com (£75). The glammest of playsuits I have come across in a while and the perfect outfit for a summer party. Wear with wavy hair and baby pink lips.

2. These black leather shorts by Pop for PPQ at very.co.uk (£49) are the perfect item to go with you into Autumn, and will look lovely with a silky tee and statement necklace, a la Olivia Palermo. Leather isn't just for winter, ref. recent photos of Alexa Chung and the short is definitely rivaling the skirt in the Summer style stakes.

3. You can't escape the festival scene this Summer and if you are looking for the perfect day bag to take with you then look no further than this ethnic, embroidered duffel bag from Accessorize (£28). Just the right size for all your essentials!

4. I challenge you to find a more beautiful pair of heels than this embellished silver-grey pair from KG at Kurt Geiger. A tad pricey at £150 but when it comes to shoes THIS amazing it's easy to put the price to the back of your mind and think about the shoe envy everyone who claps eyes on your wearing these will feel!

5. The final item for today is this cat print, lace edged skirt from Be Beau at Matalan, £16. Love the Miu Miu-esque print, and great for Summer work wear with a pretty blouse tucked
in.

Until next time...

Simple Style

Not being fortunate enough to have been at Glastonbury myself this weekend (note to self: must go one year, regardless of weather conditions) I have been having a browse over pictures of stylish celebrities listening to music in the sun, mainly courtesy of www.look.co.uk and have come across this picture of Emma Watson, aka Hermoine Grainger, looking lovely in the simplest of outfits - denim cut offs and a white shirt. No fuss, no frills, she is perfectly casual for a sunny Glastonbury weekend.

If you like Emma's look then snap up this cropped blouse from Miss Selfridge (£25) and tuck it into these customised Levis shorts from Urban Outfitters (£14.99). Throw on a leopard print belt (ASOS.com, £6) and these pumps from New Look (£8) and you're good to go.

The Wednesday (should that be Thursday?) Wish List

Apologies for the late arrival of this blog entry. All the excitement/stress of the England v Slovenia match got to me and I must admit it temporarily distracted me from shopping. But after having got my senses back through a splurge at the Topshop (online) sale I am here to bring you the Wish List, all be it a day late. Apologies.

1. So that start us off this week I bring you this white embroidered maxi dress from Missguided.com for £31.99. I love the tassel/feather detail round the waist and it looks comfy and chic at the same time.

2. Next up is this charming, and rather unique gold cuff from ASOS.com for £12. The black bow detail adds a girly edge to the chunkiness and would look great with the white maxi!

3. I'm going for a festival feel with this weeks Wish List in aid of Glastonbury this weekend so it seems only right to include a festival must-have: wellies. Not the most exciting of purchases, true, but fairly essential in a muddy field in the UK so you may as well buy a pretty pair! This leopard print pair are £20 at Topshop.

4. If you're not off to a festival this summer and are after some exciting summer sandals then look no further than this denim pair from Dorothy Perkins for £25. I am having a bit of a denim moment, especially denim shoes and love this pair - try with denim cut-outs for a different take on the Double Denim trend.

5. To round up this weeks list I bring you a designer item that isn't strictly new but deserves a mention. If you haven't had a glance at the net-a-porter sale yet (and I suggest you do) then you won't have noticed that this Marc Jacobs eyelet pouch bag is reduced to £220.50. Not strictly a bargain, but not bad for a designer bag in this day and age! And conveniently in England's kit colour! Wear it with this maxi, bangle and your choice of shoes this Summer.

Twilight Style

Are my senses deceiving me or does Kristen Stewart look rather lovely in this black satin one shoulder number at the Eclipse premier? I am having serious dress-envy of this Marchesa frock. Shame about the glum look and swept back hair-do that she never seems to update. But I must admit the gorgeous dress flatters her petite, youthful figure.

Get the look at missguided.co.uk for £34.99. R-Patz sold separately.

Sun, Sea and Style

Around this time of year your friends and work colleagues will start disappear for a week or two on holiday somewhere exotic, leaving you jealous and counting down the days until your own. Not going away until August myself I am passing the days by purchasing various items that I will eventually be cramming into my bulging suitcase. But what look should you go for this Summer holiday?

The answer to that question is Beach Glamazon. As seen on the catwalk at Milly (above) and Emilio Pucci (below), this look is all about poolside glamour. It doesn't matter if you're in Bournemouth or Barbados, just because you're relaxing doesn't mean you can't look fabulous! Think Cheryl Cole, Beyonce, sipping cocktails on a sun lounger whilst reading Vogue.

And the first place to start should be with a swimsuit. Swimsuits used to be reserved for Mums and swimming lessons but are now the height of poolside chic. There are plenty available on the high street but I particularly like this slate grey cut-out swimsuit from ASOS.com for £28.

Jewellery is not only reserved for summer nights - as long as you're not planning any extreme water sports you can glam up your swimwear with some mixed metals. Try this fringe necklace, £14 from Oasis with this ASOS cuff. Mixing your metals is much more acceptable now and gives the look an edge.

Protect your peepers with these pink ombre effect sunglasses, £19.50 from Gap. The big frames are much more glamorous than styles such as Wayfarers and Clubmasters and reflect the glamour of this Summer's designer swimwear collections.

Hats this summer have moved away from trilby and fedoras to floppy, wide brimmed and retro. This Accessorize number has a leopard print trim for some extra interest.

Finish off the poolside look with an oversized shirt-style kaftan like this one from Topshop for £25 and slip your perfectly manicured toes into these casual black sandals, £14 at New Look.

Slap on your factor 30 and grab yourself a Cosmo...

Wishing... and Waiting...

I am here, as promised to bring you the second installment of The Wednesday Wish List. Apologies for the lack of other posts this week - working in a hospital does not make for the most creative of environments. But I have been scouring the web for the best buys this week and I hope you enjoy what I've found!

1. First off this week are these rather lush ankle boots from Matalan for a pretty reasonable £18. I have been having a bit of a love affair with ankle boots recently, especially the peep toe kind, and the palest of pink tone to them make them the perfect accompaniment to my floral jeans.

2. Next up is this (rather fierce) grey studded hairband from Topshop (£30). Very Lady Gaga - Bad Romance and could really toughen up a t-shirt and skinny jeans. Don't wear it with too much leather though or you may give people the wrong impression!

3. This next item may well be the perfect jumpsuit I've been waiting for. Grey leopard print, bandeau and will look great with a pair of mega heels this summer. Get it for £40 at Warehouse.

4. The penultimate buy on this weeks Wish List is this military inspired, embellished shoulder black waistcoat from Topshop for £55. Not only could it have rolled off the Balmain SS10 catwalk but it wouldn't look out of place in a Cheryl Cole video. Waistcoats are having a fashion revival this season and this one is a fail safe for the bodycon/casual tailoring trend. Love the shoulder detail - I need this in my wardrobe asap!

5. To finish this weeks list of with a bang, stand in awe of this gorgeous embellished, vintage look dress from Miss Selfridge (£85). It's got Carey Mulligan-red carpet event written all over it. Team with waves and glam heels.

The Wednesday Wish List

So it's the middle of the week, and around the time my fingers start to itch for all the lovely new buys coming into store each week. Hence the name - the Wednesday Wish List. Each Wednesday (location permitted) I will be compiling my top five buys that my online shopping sprees have turned up. I hope you enjoy - just so long as you don't buy the last ones in my size ;)

1. To start us off, how about this navy blue floral headband from Accessorize (£12). Very Blair Waldorf, will look amazing with a crisp white sundress and floral pumps. Or save it for a summer wedding and pair it with a glamorous maxi dress.

2. Number two is this red quilted bag from New Look (also £12). Once the sort of bag you wouldn't look twice at, luxe sportswear is v. on trend this season. Tie your hair up in a high ponytail, throw on a baggy sweat top with some running shorts and work the 'I've just rolled out of bed and still look fantastic' look to a tee.

3. I absolutely love these heeled denim trainers from Boohoo (£35). The trainer sole makes them more comfortable than your average high heel and they're perfect for day and night. Clash them up with a denim shirt and vest dress.

4. Another gem from Boohoo (definitely worth a lunchtime browse) is this bargain of a waistcoat. Perfect to throw over a white summer vest for a festival.

5. And last, but definitely by no means least is this printed jacket from Topshop (£45). The print is gorgeous and very glam, the perfect jacket to throw over an otherwise average outfit and looks a lot more expensive than it is.

See you next week!

Maxi = Must Have

High street stores are literally draped in maxi dresses this season and are the perfect day to night summer outfit. Very flattering so long as you try the length before you buy and highly comfortable.

Favoured by many celebrities, particularly the ever Bohemian Nicole Richie (see above), the different choices on the high street are endless - printed, plain, fitted, loose, halterneck, bandeau, shirred, cotton, denim and so on. So I've chosen a great geometric print halterneck maxi from Topshop for £35 and suggested what to pair it with to take it from day to night.

So for day, pair the dress with some neutral accessories. A floppy hat is oh so chic this summer (Accessorize, £20) and a pair of laced gladiators are comfy and compliment the yellow of the dress (Miss Selfridge, £25).

To glam up the dress for evening, pop your hat back in the suitcase and let your glossy waves do the talking! Add a statement necklace to the neckline (£30, ASOS.com) and some chunky bangles to one wrist (New Look, £10). Swap your flats for some mega wedges like these gorgeous leather/wooden ones (Dune, £85) and pick up this glam beaded clutch (ASOS, £35).
